Forty is a great time for women. It's a time of confidence and success. It's also a time of transition. Women in their forties are already heading towards menopause. Their metabolism is slowing down. Muscle mass and bone density are also dropping per year. There's also the added stress of growing kids, career, finances, and parents. If you're in your forties and want to stay healthy, have more energy, and retain your sharp mind, consider the following health tips. NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST
Eating breakfast is a great way of maintaining a healthy weight and keeping your metabolism up. Studies showed that women who ate a big, nutritious breakfast lost 21 percent of their weight after eight months while those who had a low-carb breakfast lost just 4.5 percent. Starting the day with a healthy meal also helps provide energy while preventing cravings that develop when blood sugar goes down. STRENGTH-TRAIN TO BOOST METABOLISM A woman's metabolism slows down by 2 percent per decade. Strength-training for as little as six months can jumpstart your metabolism. Doing strength training exercises will boost your resting metabolism, allowing you to burn calories even when you're just sitting. It will also help strengthen your bones and maintain your balance to prevent injuries. GET ENOUGH CALCIUM AND VITAMIN D These two minerals are necessary for strong bones. Doctors recommend that once women reach their forties, they should get 1,000mg of calcium daily and 400 to 800IU of vitamin D. Fortified milk, salmon, and doctor approved supplements can help meet this need. FIND WAYS TO RELIEVE STRESS Aim for having calm and healthy heart beats in your forties. A healthy heart beats faster when you inhale and slower when you exhale. However, stress can prevent this from happening. It can start unwelcome changes in your body, like lower libido, high blood pressure, and faster cell death, In short, you age faster with stress. Get your heart beating into a healthy rhythm with meditation and other relaxing techniques. DON'T SKIP ON YOUR CHECKUPS Exercise and a good diet are not enough. At this stage in your life, getting the essential check-ups become even more vital. Get an eye exam every 2 and four years, have your blood pressure checked every two years and a pelvic exam every year. Mammograms are also important to get once every 1 to 2 years. They say that life begins at forty. A good diet, enough rest and exercise will go a long way in ensuring this happens. Investing in good health insurance is also a great way to make sure that you're protected at all times. You made an interesting point when you mentioned that essential checkups are vital for women in their 40s. It seems like it would be a good idea to find a health clinic that specializes in women's health for these checkups. Working with specialized doctors seems like the best way to prevent major medical problems from occurring.

It is good to know that essential check-ups are even more vital for women in their 40s. My mom is turning 40 next month. I think that one of the most important check-ups for her to book regularly would be with a gynecologist.

I like how you talk about how importqant it is to keep up with medical check-ups as you go through life. My cousin is just reaching her 30s and she's been wanting to see an OBGYN doctor regularly to ensure her body is in good health. We've been trying to find someone who can help her understand her body and who she can feel comfortable with.

I found it interesting when you said that you should eat breakfast daily to have enough power for the day. After moving to our current area, my spouse informed me about the importance of choosing a reputable gynecologist for her pregnancy care. Thanks to this instructive article, I'll do some research and ask for referrals to find a gynecologist in town for more pregnancy information.

It got me when you said that it is more essential to get checked when women are in their 40s, since exercise and a good diet is not enough. I will make sure that I will start going to a doctor's office here in Belleville, New Jersey once I find a facility I can trust. And I might do it twice a year, because I want to avoid severe diseases as I get older.

I thought it was interesting when you mentioned that essential checkups become more important for women that are in their 40s. Would it be important for women in this age range to visit a gynecologist on a regular basis as well? It seems like visiting doctors for all aspects of health would be important no matter what age you are.

I love how you talk about the importance of regular check-ups once you reach forty. My aunt is around that age and she recently discovered she was pregnant so she's worried about how carrying this baby will go. We've been looking into finding a gynecologist she feels comfortable with so she can get the help she needs as she goes through this pregnancy.

It's great that this article talked that vitamin D and calcium would help provide proper strength for bones. A few nights ago, my cousin informed me she was hoping to find a trustworthy family health center to provide proper dental and physical care for her family. She asked if I had ideas on the best option for them. I appreciate this helpful article, I'll tell her that it will be much better if they consult a trusted family dentist as they can provide details about their services.

Thank you for mentioning that a woman's metabolism decreases by 2% every ten years. My friend believes her metabolism is slowing down. I'll advise her to visit a gynecologist.
