Open enrollment in Colorado is the window of time when people can enroll in a new health insurance plan. Here in Colorado in 2016, the Open Enrollment Period is November 1, 2015 through January 31, 2016. Important Dates for Colorado Open Enrollment in 2016:
You can apply for Medicaid or Childrens Health Insurance Coverage at any time of the year. If you don’t enroll in a health insurance plan for 2016 before January 31, 2016, you won't be able to enroll in any health insurance plan for the entire year unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. What is a Special Enrollment Period? A special enrollment period is a time outside the standard open enrollment period when you and your family have the right to sign up for new health coverage. This generally occurs in the 60 days after a change in family status like marriage or childbirth or the loss of other health insurance coverage.
